The NFPA 10 ‘Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers’ is adopted through the model building codes making it one of the most widely used fire protection standards. NFPA 10 covers the installation and maintenance requirements for portable fire extinguishers in buildings as well as vehicles, boats and campers. This webinar covers the different types of fires along with the related types of fire extinguishers. Participants will be introduced to the components and mounting methods of fire extinguishers in addition to the spacing and placement requirements for installation. Finally, maintenance requirements will be discussed including aspects of a monthly inspection and annual service.
