Tracey Bellamy Receives Highest Honor of SFPE Fellow
The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) recognizes Fire Smarts Faculty, Tracey Bellamy, as Fellow for his accomplishments and influence in fire protection engineering.
Each year the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) bestows their highest level of membership to a select few individuals that represent the best of the industry and who have have amassed significant accomplishment and stature in fire protection engineering. For 2023, only eight people were selected for this high honor, including Fire Smarts Faculty, Tracey Bellamy, PE, CFPS, CWBSP, FSFPE.
In addition to the work Tracey has performed in fire protection engineering, he has authored and presented numerous fire protection training courses and is a highly sought after speaker. He is known for his engaging southern accent and always asking the question “why?” when teaching to help students get a deeper understanding of the reasons behind the codes and standards.

Tracey has more than 30 years’ experience in the fire protection community including all areas of the fire sprinkler industry. He has extensive experience with fire suppression system design, fire hazard analysis and fire protection system inspection and testing. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in 49 U.S. states, District of Columbia and Guam and a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS). He serves on several NFPA technical and correlating committees including NFPA 13, 15, 16, 25, 30, 30B, 101 and 5000 (building code).
