Fire Alarm System Design for Assembly Occupancies

This course discusses the International Building Code (IBC) Group A (Assembly) occupancy groups with a focus on fire alarm system requirements based on each classification. Assembly occupancies include gathering places such as restaurants, theaters, arenas, stadiums and churches. The presenter will cover the design parameters for different Assembly occupancies including detection, notification and interfacing requirements for the fire alarm system. Participants will walk through practical exercises to learn how to apply these requirements. It is recommended that participants have a copy of the IBC available for reference.
