Course Description: Multifamily housing has been one of the fastest segments of residential building growth. This course will discuss sections of the International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA 72 ‘National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code’ related to multifamily dwellings for fire protection systems. The presenter will discuss IBC Occupancy Group R-2 and the application of fire alarm system requirements to protect housing including a review of NFPA 72 Chapter 29 covering ‘Household Fire Alarm Systems’.
