NFPA 25 2026 Edition Update

NFPA 25 ‘Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems’ contains the requirements for ensuring that properties are protected against the perils of fire. This course reviews the scope and purpose of the standard as well as the major revisions to the 2026 edition. Some of the topics covered include a clarification regarding the scope of inspections, changes to Chapter 3 covering definitions, revisions to the requirements for qualifications to perform ITM, and owner responsibilities for corrosion, impairments, and inactive system components. Additional items reviewed include changes to fire pump circulation and main pressure relief valves, fire department connection testing, and the inspection and testing of corrosion inhibiting systems.
