Fire Protection for Aircraft Hangars per NFPA 409

This one day seminar provides a detailed review of the design, construction, and fire protection of aircraft hangars. The seminar begins with a review of the different types of hangars, and the corresponding requirements for protection for each. The differences in available protection options will be examined. The attendees will learn about the four groups of hangars and how each are best applied for the appropriate situation. Construction requirements, including floors, roofs and walls, drainage, aprons and taxiways will be discussed and reviewed. Fire protection system installation requirements will be thoroughly reviewed with illustrations of acceptable and unacceptable layouts. Additional review will encompass the installation and protection of paint hangars and unfueled aircraft hangars. Finally, the seminar examines the requirements for inspection, acceptance testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems for aircraft hangars, and the required documentation for an approved installation.
