The concept of remote inspections and testing of water-based fire protection systems continues to evolve. This course covers how NFPA 13 and 20 address the issue along with the requirements of NFPA 25 and NFPA 915 ‘Standard for Remote Inspections and Tests’. A brief review of the history of remote inspections and tests is presented to help understand the genesis of the concept. The current state of remote inspections and tests is discussed along with a look at the future and the impact on building owners, AHJs, installation contractors, and periodic ITM service providers.
