This training will involve use of the NFPA 13 Standard. Each course participant should have their own copy of the NFPA 13 Standard (not included in registration fee). If needed, you may purchase this directly from NFPA.

Steven Scandaliato is a Fire Smarts Faculty member and Principal at SDG, LLC, a fire protection design and consulting company. With over 30 years of fire protection engineering, design and project management experience he holds a Level IV certification from NICET in Fire Sprinkler Layout, a Certified Fire Protection Specialist designation, and serves as a member of the NFPA 13, 101 and 5000 committees. |
Learning Objectives:
- Locate and apply the requirements for special situations found in chapter 8 of NFPA 13.
- Evaluate and design for special situations with regard to hazard and occupancy.
- Explain the concepts for performance based design and how engineered systems can be utilized with special situations.
