Online Account Access

I forgot my password…how do I access my account?

You will need to reset the password on your account. To do this you will need access to the email address on your account. The following provides a step-by-step guide for resetting your account password:
1. Go to www.firesmarts.com
2. Click on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page to view the login page
3. Click on the ‘Forget Your Password?’ link at the bottom of the login box
4. Enter the email address on your account
5. Within 30 minutes you will receive an email with a link to reset your password. Click on the link in this email and follow the instructions to complete the password reset.

My email address or other contact information has changed…how do I update my account?

In your online training account your can edit your contact information at any time. The following provides a step-by-step guide for resetting your account password:
1. Go to www.firesmarts.com
2. Click on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page to view the login page
3. Login to your account
4. Click on the icon ‘Edit My Account’ to view your account contact information
5. Update contact information as needed and click on ‘Submit’

How do I get my Certificate of Completion?

After completing a training course you may receive your Certificate of Completion by downloading it from your Fire Smarts online training account. The following provides a step-by-step guide:
1. Go to www.firesmarts.com
2. Click on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page to view the login page
3. Login to your account
4. Once logged in, please click on ‘Training Products’ and select the appropriate training course
5. At the bottom of training course details screen you will see the ‘Certificate of Completion’ section. When you have completed the training course this will show a link to view/download your certificate.
7. Click on the link in this ‘Certificate of Completion’ section that says ‘**Click here to view/download your certificate.**’ This will download the PDF file of the certificate.

Training Course Registration/Access

How do I register for a training course?

To register for a training course you will first need to look up the training course in our online training catalog. Selecting the training course will take you to the registration page. On the right side of the screen there is an ‘add’ button that you can click on. You will then go through the checkout screens to complete your registration.

What are ‘Registration Codes’?

Registration codes are generated anytime you purchase more than one ‘seat’ to a training course. This allows you to pre-pay for other participants to register in a training course. This is commonly used by a department managers to purchase a training course for each member of their team on one order. The ‘registration codes’ are available to the purchaser in their online training account and can be assigned to any person using their email address. The participant then receives an email with the ‘registration code’ so they can complete their pre-paid training course registration.

I ordered multiple ‘seats’ for a training course…how do I use the ‘Registration Codes’?

When you complete your purchase for multiple seats on the training course our system automatically generates ‘Registration Codes’. You have these registration codes available to assign in your account. These can be assigned to anyone you choose. If you, as the purchaser, are also attending the training course you will need to assign one of the ‘Registration Codes’ to yourself. This does not happen automatically because sometimes we have office managers completing the purchase for their staff, but the office manager is not actually participating in the training course. Here are the steps to use the available registration codes:
1. Go to www.firesmarts.com
2. Click on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page to view the login page
3. Login to your account
4. Click on the ‘Registration Codes’ icon in your ‘My Account’ screen.
5. You will see the registration codes you purchased for the training course and a ‘Details’ link to the right. Click on ‘Details’ to in order to use your registration codes.
6. You will now see an ‘Assign Access’ option and an ‘Email Invite’ option.
– If you are assigning a registration code to a new user of Fire Smarts training or a user already associated with your account, click on ‘Assign Access’ and enter their name and email address.  Do this for each registration code you wish to assign.
– If you are assigning to a person that has an existing Fire Smarts training account not associated with your account, click on ‘Email Invite’ and enter their email address to send them the registration code link. Do this for each registration code you wish to assign.
7. An email is sent to the person you assigned the registration code with a special link that allows them to register and access the training course. Once they use this link to register they will have access to the training course in their Fire Smarts online training account.

Will the recording be available for live training courses/webinars?

Generally speaking all live presentations are recorded and made available to registered participant. The recorded presentation is posted to registered participants online training account within one week of the live session along with a PDF of the presentation slides. In rare occasions their are technical issues with the recording or other factors that may delay or prevent the recording from being available. As a registered participant you will receive an email once the recording is available if you are not able to attend the live session. Recorded presentations are only viewable to registered participants while logged in to their online training account.

The training course video stopped playing while I was watching…what should I do?

The training system requires that the video player be the active screen on your computer. This is a requirement for CEUs to ensure you are watching the video and not having it play in the background while doing other things. If the training system detects that another screen is active the video will stop playing. This is a common reason for your account login session to timeout and your video player to freeze. To continue watching the video you will need to exit the course, re-login to your training account and launch the training course again. When you launch the course again the training system will ask, “Would you like to resume the presentation from the last slide viewed?” Select ‘yes’ and you will be taken to the video at the last recorded time before your session went inactive so you can continue watching the training course video.

My training course access has expired…what can I do?

You have a full 12 months after registration to access a training course any time from any computer you can access your online training account from. After 12 months the training course will still show in your account, but will be in an expired status. If you feel additional time is needed, please contact our support team to request an extension of your training course access.

Can I get a receipt for my training course registrations?

Yes, an email confirmation receipt is sent out to your email address on file immediately after completing the online order. Further, you can view your order history details at any time in the ‘Order History’ section of your account. Here are the steps to view your order history:

2. Click on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page to view the login page
3. Login to your account
4. Click on the ‘Order History’ icon in your ‘My Account’ screen
